Slide and Splash – Water Park
A day out at a water park has to be one of the best forms of family entertainment in the Algarve and the diversity of the slides and attractions at Slide & Splash located near Lagoa, makes it one of the best in the region.
Find a spot on the grass to lay your towel and then spend the rest of the day exploring the water park which is home to slides and to a large and entertaining children’s area, suitable for those who are not so confident in the water.
Meanwhile, adrenalin fans will love the unknown of the Black Hole inflatable slide, the speed of the Kamikaze and the chance to race friends on the foam slide.
Everything you need for a fantastic day of fun is here, including ample free parking, food options and lots of friendly staff to help out if you need it.
Slide and Splash is one of the most well established waterparks in the Algarve but while the slides are fantastic and offer hours of fun, there is much more to do at Slide and Splash, located in the central Algarve near to Lagoa.
Recently Slide and Splash began to offer guests the chance to widen their overall Slide and Splash experience with the introduction of live shows that every member of the family is sure to enjoy while at this premier Algarve waterpark.
At various times of the day the Slide and Splash team put on specialist shows including a falconry show, parrot and macaw show and a reptile show, with all being good enough to challenge some of the very best in the Algarve.
The Slide and Splash falconry show is perhaps the most thrilling of all the Slide and Splash animal attractions with visitors being able to view the birds of prey as they soar through the Algarve skies with eagles and hawks engaging in a spot of free flight, however the Slide and Splash parrot show is great fun and a good choice for younger visitors keen to have a closer look at these bright and entertaining birds in the Algarve. The final show at Slide and Splash is the reptile show where guests to the Algarve waterpark are able to learn all about the various different species of reptiles and get a little closer if they dare!
The addition of the new shows to Slide and Splash make this Algarve waterpark an attraction that all ages can enjoy and if you are looking from a break from all the sliding and splashing then a show is the perfect answer!

The Algarve has fantastic weather and with more than 300 days of sunshine a year there is no better place to visit a water park as you know that you are going to have warm, sunny weather when you visit – although it is always best to check the weather report before you book!
Located just outside Lagoa and only a short drive from Praia da Rocha, Slide & Splash is one of the larger water parks in the Algarve and offers a great choice of attractions for children of all ages.
Recently the park opened a special area dedicated to children and this is ideal for young swimmers who may not be confident going down the larger slides or for those who cannot swim. This area includes water cannons, fountains and plenty of bridges and little slides to keep those under five entertained in the shallow waters.
Older children and adults will move quickly from this area to the bigger and more adrenaline packed slides in the park, which are dotted about a man made mountain, with each having it’s own little path leading to it giving a sense of adventure as you discover the new slides.
There are standard water slides that run from the top of the mountain and then more specialist ones on the sides of the park including the ever popular foam slide that allows you to race against family and friends and the black hole which involves two people on a single inflatable hurling themselves into a pitch black tunnel!
You do need to be able to swim to enjoy these larger slides as when you reach the bottom the pools can be quite deep, but if you are not a confident swimmer then there are life guards all around the park to make sure that you are safe.
In the summer months the park can get very busy and you will need to queue for the slides and wait to be allowed to go down in turn. These queues do not take very long but sometimes you may be left standing in the sun so it is a good idea to wear plenty of sun protection while at the Slide & Splash water park.
When you are not on the slides then you can lie in the sun in the grassy areas that surround the main attractions. There is plenty of space for everyone but if you want to keep costs down then bring you own sun shade rather than renting shades and loungers from the park.
You can take your own food into the park for a picnic or can buy food on site as well as ice creams and cold drinks which are reasonably priced for a closed attraction.
Slide & Splash is a brilliant day out and is not only suitable for families with children of all ages, it is also a really fun day out with friends as you race each other on the slides, enjoy a few drinks in the sunshine and the friendly and secure environment the park offers.
2018
In order to keep its label of being one of Europe’s best water parks, Slide & Splash constantly strives to innovate to provide the most breath-taking and frightening attractions and slides.
By 2018, the park has undergone numerous renovations with multiple slides and attractions being updated with the latest materials to provide a more fun experience while meeting safety standards.
But the great novelty for the 2018 season is the Disco River. A vertiginous yellow and red slide with curves shaped in the format of a disc that promise to leave you full of adrenaline.
