The focus of Luz is down by the beach and many of the things to do in Luz take place on the golden sands of Luz beach beneath the gaze of the impressive cliffs to the east. Relax on a sunbed, make castles in the sand or head out into the sea for watersports, pedalos and plenty of fun in the waves directly from Luz beach.

One of the most enjoyable things to do in Luz is to walk along the pretty promenade that overlooks the beach and is lined with shops, cafes, bars and restaurants. This is the perfect place to watch the world go by while also great for picking up gifts and knick-knacks or enjoying a cool drink in the sunshine.

There are lots of things to do in Luz itself but if you are looking to explore the local area a little further then you have a wide choice of activities in the western Algarve to explore from you base in Luz.

Head out for a game of golf at Parque da Floresta, or down the road to Boavista Golf. Alternatively you can drive inland a little to the real rural Algarve and try you game at the challenging Espiche golf, while taking in the local flora, fauna and wildlife.

Luz remains one of the prettiest places for families to visit and the relaxed atmosphere, combined with the stunning surroundings makes this a top location in the Algarve.
