Krazy World is a zoo with over 62 different species including lemurs, cute prairie dogs, and reptiles such as alligators and even an 8.5m snake which is the biggest Europe! There’s also a petting zoo where you will can feed dwarf goats, lamas and fallow deer.
In addition there is an 18 hole crazy golf course and a large pool area with slide which is great for cooling off when the weather is hot! The pool area is surrounded by plenty of grass if you’d like to relax, and there’s also a cafe for drinks, snacks and meals.
You can also find pedal go-karts, high ropes tree climbing with a zip line, and pony rides.
If the weather is wet there’s an indoor area with restaurant, inflatable bouncy castle and a stage area which is used for animal shows and presentations.
Krazy World is a great family attraction and zoo which will keep kids of all ages (and adults!) entertained all year round!
Krazy World Zoo is a family attraction including a small farm, reptiles, crazy golf and large swimming pool area making it an ideal Algarve attraction both through the summer and the winter months.
During the summer there is so much to do in the Algarve it can be hard to pick which attraction to visit first, which is why it is brilliant that Krazy World Zoo stays open all year round, giving you far more choice about when to visit. Between March and October Krazy World Zoo is open daily and then for the remainder of the year they open on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays with a slightly different schedule over Christmas. If you want to check exactly when the Krazy World Zoo is open then contact one of our team who will be able to advise you according to your needs.
Getting to Krazy World Zoo can be half of the fun of the day out to be honest! Most attractions in the Algarve run along the EN125 road but to get to Krazy World Zoo you need to go off the beaten track and into the beautiful Algarve countryside.
The nearest small town to Krazy World Zoo is Algoz, which is inland to Albufeira. Once you find Algoz, which is well sign posted, then follow the little zoo signs into the countryside and just when you think you must be lost you will see a sign directing you through an orange grove – don’t worry you are on the right path!
Krazy World Zoo is located at the end of the road and you will know you are there because the entrance is a large open crocodile mouth for you to go through once you get out of the car.
If you don’t feel like driving then there are bus options available and either way will allow you to see some of the rural Algarve you miss when you stay close to the coast.
There are several different elements to Krazy World Zoo with most aimed at children and families.
The zoo part of Krazy World is split into a small farm with goats, sheep, a pony and other little farm animals, while there is also the reptile area of the zoo including an area with some enormous snakes and crocodiles!
Younger children will enjoy being able to feed and pet the small animals in the dedicated enclosure, while the snakes and reptiles will leave you peering into the enclosures and gasping (either with fear or because you are very impressed with the huge snakes).
The friendly staff at Krazy World Zoo put on shows during the day which allow you to learn more about the animals and get closer to them (if you dare!) while also giving a children the chance to learn about conservation.
Away from the zoo part of Krazy World Zoo, the crazy golf has to be the next most popular attraction with the 18 hole mini course weaving its way through the woodland making it exciting for young golfers and challenging for older fans.
You are given a score card, pencil, ball and putter with special putters for children are available and as you go around you can watch others climbing the trees with instructors or playing in the pools.
There is plenty shade around the course but when it is hot it is a good idea to take a bottle of water with you to see you around.
In the summer there is a large swimming pool with a slide, plus areas for younger swimmers and while it may seem strange to put on your swim stuff at the zoo, the relaxed and friendly atmosphere makes it feel very natural and this is a perfect way to cool down on a hot day.
There is a restaurant at Krazy World Zoo with a selection of snacks available which appeal more to children than adults but portions are generous and make the meals good value for money.
