The Algarve organizes dozens of music events throughout the year. Some international and some national, they bring many people from around the world to this region of great natural beauty.
The Iberian Awards Festival will take place for the 5th time in Lisbon in 2020, at FIL’s great auditorium, on the 14th March.
The Algarve has 30 nominations in the 25 categories, which means there were at least 30 events in the Algarve in 2019 with extraordinary importance and relevance to be nominated.
The jury will decide from the many events between Portugal and Spain, and attribute the prizes.
Events such as Festival F (Faro), Festival Med and Noite Branca (Loulé), or Pé na Terra (Fuzeta), earned well deserved nominations.
Everyone can vote on their favourite event here until the 7th of January.
The Iberian Festival Awards, organized by the Portuguese Association for Music Festivals (APORFEST) is held next to Talkfest- International Forum for Music Festivals which is the only discussion forum in the Iberian Peninsula dedicated to music festivals with a specific programme focused on these events. 2020 will be its 9th edition.
In previous editions, Talkfest had more than 8100 participants, and anyone who enjoys this type of events can get their tickets on their website.
Categories include several types of festivals and don’t leave anyone out. Within the 25 categories are Best Major Festival and Best Small Festival with a 500€ prize; Best Touristic Promotion that was swept in 2019 by Festival Musicas do Mundo de Sines; Best Cultural Programme and Contribution to Sustainability won by Festival Med in Loulé 2019 and the category of Best Lusophone and Hispanic Festival, won by Festival F in 2019.
In 2020 we are counting on having more prizes won by Algarvian events, and that their recognition and visibility attract more visitors to the region, which already is home to prizes such as Golf Destination of the Year 2020 and Europe Leading Beach Destination 2019 of World Travel Awards.
