For all those who enjoy nature and want to enjoy Algarve’s pure air to the fullest this might be what you are looking for.
You’ll be taken on a 4×4 to the countryside through dirt roads, uphill, down dales, crossing streams, with landscapes that time forgot as scenery.
You’ll also learn how the locals harvest cork, try ‘medronho’, a spirit made from the distillation of the fruits of the strawberry tree, on a traditional distillery, and learn how honey was made in the old times.
Lunch is served in a local restaurant.
To continue your adventure after lunch, you embark on a relaxing cruise down the Arade river and enjoy the lush scenery.
The river used to be an important commercial route, especially for the cork trade, and has been used since the Roman times but has lost its relevance on more recent times.
The cruise finishes on the river mouth, in Portimão, and you disembark on one of the Algarve’s golden beaches where you can end your day perfectly with a swim on the sea.
