We are going to depart from Marina of Faro, also known as Portas do Mar and we will sail through the lovely channels of one the 7 Natural Wonders of Portugal – The Ria Formosa. During this time we can enjoy the beautiful landscape. Sailing with direction to Culatra Island we will have the opportunity to see many species of birds that usually use this area to feed. Once we see the light house of the Culatra Island we know our first stop is right ahead.
Taking a look around we will have the chance to observe the work of the clams and oysters farms and if we give a closer look in the direction of the coastline we will notice one of the most traditional markets of the country, the market of Olhão.
Time for the first stop! The Lighthouse Farol Island, where you can be delighted by walking around the streets of this lovely community. Once you pass by the lighthouse, make sure you appreciate the extensive white sand beach home of the Santa Maria Cape – the most southern point of the country.
Leaving the Farol Island, it’s time for our second stop at the Barreta Island, mostly known as Deserta Island. Here we will have the chance to explore the fauna and flora while walking along the island or as an alternative, bath in the crystal clear waters of this lovely beach.
