Whether you are an experienced twitcher or are simply keen to learn more about the Algarve birdlife, a birdwatching walking tour in the Ria Formosa is an ideal way to discover the many species of birds in the region.
The three hour private walking tour begins in Faro and takes you to the ecologically diverse areas of Ludo and Quinta do Lago in the Ria Formosa Natural Park, an area considered to be one of the most important wetland environments for birds in the whole of Portugal.
The experienced guide will help you to spot birds in the freshwater lagoons, home to birds from northern and central Europe as they migrate between Europe and Africa.
The tour can take place at any time of the year to coincide with specific migration times and includes a birding tour guide, binoculars and telescope, bird field guides and maps to help you to get the most out of this birdwatching tour.
